Conference Details
This year’s conference will feature topics that are relevant to woodlot owners and managers from all walks of life.  We’ve invited presenters who will capture your imagination and provide you with a range of information about managing your woodlot.

Here are some of the topics that will be featured at this year’s event.
* Group selection-harvest systems to manage mid-tolerant tree species such as red oak, basswood, and ash. (Ken Elliott, Forestry Specialist, Ministry of Natural Resources).
* Woodland amphibians and vernal pools… an integral part of our woodlots. (Speaker to be announced).
* Ontario woodlots under a changing global climate. (Sean Thomas, Canada Research Chair, Forests & Environmental Change, Faculty of Forestry, University of Toronto).
*

Invasive, non-native plant species that are impacting our woodlots. (Mark Richardson, Conservation Partnerships and Programs, Environment Canada).

* Managing for wildlife… a look at cavity trees and forest raptors found in many of our woodlots. (Dawn Burke, Carolinian Ecologist, Ministry of Natural Resources).
