Each year the Annual General Meeting and workshop features both indoor and outdoor activities geared to the interests of our members.  Each fall we hold a family barbecue and workshop, consisting of great food and interesting topics.  We view ourselves as a family oriented Chapter and have consistently encouraged the participation of spouses and children.

Providing educational opportunities for our members is important.  As requested by our members, we have provided chainsaw operation and safety courses and a number of workshops covering a wide variety of topics including forest pests, trespassing issues, seed collection, woodland plants and animals, source water protection, watershed stewardship and tree planting to name a few.

For the past several years we have partnered with our sister Limestone Chapter, the Upper Canada Wood Co-operative and local Stewardship Councils, in holding a very successful fall pig roast coupled with workshops in tree marking, estimating the volume of standing timber and tree identification.

We invite woodlot owners of the Trenton, Picton, Belleville, Tweed and Stirling area to join us in helping to promote sustainable forestry, wildlife habitat, and good forestry practices by joining us as a member of the Ontario Woodlot Association.
